About the lavender estate:
Flowers harvested go straight into onsite steam distillation unit to be heated. The steam gently extracts the lavender oil from the flower as a vapor. The wauter and lavender oil mixture is then cooled until it becomes pure liquid Lavender oil and can be easily separated. The oil floats to the top of the separation vessel and is collected. No additives just pure Lavender Oil.
There are around 39 species of lavender but this lavender grown in Tasmania belongs to the Lavandula angustifolia – the single species suitable for both perfume and culinary use.
